SAA works to facilitate collaboration among the community of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother's devotees. Rather than looking upon itself as any kind of authority, it hopes to function almost like the administrators of a shared community resource, letting the Divine's instruments (everyone else) make use of the resource.

The board of directors of the Sri Aurobindo Association has developed a very exciting consensus style of working together, that by its very harmony does not give room for powerplays or factions. The board members feel strongly that their work is an expression of Sri Aurobindo and Mother's sadhana and collective purpose.

It was a conscious hope through AUM 98 to share and spark some of this vision in others. Right now, besides the office work involved, each individual board member also champions at least one specific project which they hope will be of benefit to the community.

Chandresh Patel lives in Santa Clara, California, where he runs a design services consulting firm.
